Olivia Rose, Naturopathic Doctor

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Occupation: Naturopathic Doctor

Story: At the age of 15, I decided that I wanted to be a naturopathic doctor. I always thought that I would be a medical doctor but quickly switched gears after attempting to find a solution for health issues in a medical system that offered prescription medications that would only suppress my symptoms and create side-effects. After seeking the care of a naturopathic doctor, and being placed on a regimen of supplements, herbs and dietary changes, I was freed from my health concerns and came to understand first-hand what it meant to feel “well”. From this point on, I dedicated my life to the art and practice of naturopathy.

Accomplishments: Olivia graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Nutritional and Nutraceutical Sciences. In 2006, she graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine where she completed 4 years of study and a clinical internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and at the Sherbourne Health Centre where she worked with patients afflicted with HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C.

Goals: Olivia has a general family practice located in the Beaches area of Toronto. She is also the director of Fertility Acupuncture Services, a program that brings acupuncture to couples undergoing in vitro fertilization and intrauterine insemination in Toronto fertility clinics. Her special areas of interest include stress management, heart disease, digestive health, infertility, pediatrics and weight management. Olivia is registered with the Board of Directors Drugless Therapy–Naturopathy and she serves as a board examiner for new graduates seeking ND licensure. She is an active member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Infertility Awareness Association of Canada. She is a birth doula and has additional training in cosmetic acupuncture, and biopuncture for pain management and facial rejuvenation. In her free time, when she is not at the spa or spending time with her husband and tea-cup Yorkie, Olivia guest lectures at corporate events, local groups and schools. She is featured regularly as a health expert on Global Toronto’s “The Morning Show” and “News at Noon”.
